Crunch was tasked with generating a world-class moment to mark the client’s rediscovery of an old asset – a newly found film charting the 1955 Belgian Grand Prix.
Shell offered Formula One media the opportunity to relive the budding years of Formula One, taking over a 1950s cinema in Malmedy for a special screening of its ‘1955 Belgian Grand Prix’ film.
Guests were immersed in a bygone era at the retro venue. They were surrounded by 1950s cars, sipped traditional cocktails and enjoyed a boogie-woogie band in the evocative setting.
They were joined by Scuderia Ferrari official drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who swapped their modern race suits for 1950s drivers outfits to give media a one-off photo opportunity. Guests were then ushered into the theatre for the screening of the classic film – celebrating over 60 years of the Shell technical partnership with Ferrari in Formula One.
Media gathered from all over the world to capture the moment, which was one of the PR hits of the year.
